TMS DEBUTS BASEBALL MINI-APPLICATION POWERED BY NEWSGATORCHICAGO-April 5, 2008 Online newspapers are now able to easily give baseball fans a quick answer to "What channel is tonight's game on?" with the new baseball telecast tracking application from Tribune Media Services. "With the explosion of sports programming on television, consumers are challenged with finding the right channel where their team will play," says Cameron Yung, Executive Director of Sales for TMS. "This fills the need for a quick, visual way of providing that information in a format that naturally lends itself to an advertising sponsorship." TMS selected NewsGator Technologies, Inc. to power this service, as well as other TV and movie listings "mini-apps" now under development for TMS's new suite of specialized content applications, specifically geared for online newspapers. "This innovative service from TMS enables online newspapers to engage readers with highly dynamic and relevant content that increases page views and site visit times," said Jeff Nolan, vice president, NewsGator Software-as-a-Service. "The result is higher ad views and click-throughrates which translate to additional monetization opportunities for online newspapers." Designed to fit on a newspaper Web site page, the application automatically tracks and updates home team schedules and includes all baseball games on local and national channels in their area. TMS is the leader in providing updated listings data to online and on-screen services. Long a provider of complete hosted Zap2it Movies and Zap2it TV pages to hundreds of newspapers, TMS now demonstrates how smaller slices of listings data can help newspapers add reader and advertiser appeal throughout their online sites.
